Bereavement

During difficult times, your finances may be the last thing on your mind. We look to offer as much support as we can to people when the worst happens.

When somebody dies, it’s key that you let us know at your earliest convenience. You can do this by calling us at your earliest convenience. We can then talk you through what the next steps will be.

Once we’re notified, we will cease all interest charges and hold repayments for an initial 3 months until the probate has been sorted. This only applies to residential, and not Buy to Let (BTL) customers, and can be extended following a referral to the Bank.

You can find more information on what to do when someone dies on The Co-operative Bank website.
